Natural, meaningful Newborn photography, full of life & love

Your newborn session is a beautiful and intimate experience, capturing the natural magic of your new arrival.

Held in the comfort of your own home, the session is a chance for you to wind down and enjoy those precious cuddles with your little one.

I know too well these days go by in a blur, and I want to capture a set of images that truly embraces the feeling of those first few days.

I’ll work around you and baby, aiming for gentle, unopposed shots, that document those fleeting yawns, stretches, and quiet moments of contemplation, capturing you and your partner seamlessly incorporating your little one into loving embraces and tender interactions.

Connect

It’s important to me that you feel at ease, so our time starts well ahead of the session. In our personal consultation, I’ll learn more about you and your family; who you are, what you like to do together and what you’re hoping for from your images.

We’ll talk about what to expect during the session, and plan for when little one is due to make an appearance. I only work with a limited number of families to ensure I can adapt to babies time of arrival - whenever they decide their ready!

Capture

This is where I get to photograph your gorgeous family. The session is relaxed, and hopefully fun working at the pace of you and baby, giving you gentle guidance so you can simply enjoy the moment with your family.

I’ll aim to create a mix of images, capturing little ones smallest movements amongst relaxed group shots. Let me know if there are any images you really want so I can try to incorporate these for you.

Curate

Two weeks after your session you will receive a link to a personal online gallery where you can enjoy the high-resolution edited images and begin to curate your legacy.

You’ll have the time to select your favourite images to download, and customise any other download or print options you desire. Each family will be different, so I’ll work with you to help you find the right solution for you to enjoy your images.

Cherish

Whether it's the infectious giggles of a child, the tender embrace of loved ones, or the quiet contemplation of a family gathering, these images become treasured keepsakes that you can cherish for generations to come.

It doesn’t have to be the end of our photography journey. Families are forever changing and growing, and I always love catching up with families, meeting new additions and hearing their stories.

Enjoy your images in the way that suits you best.

FAQs

  • Newborns are best photographed up to 12 days old if you want to get that curled up, sleepy look they have in the first week.

It's not going to do any harm if you book a date when they are 2 or even 3 weeks old. They don't lose the newborn look overnight!

Ultimately, it's when you are ready! Don't put pressure on yourself to get photographs taken too early.

  • For a newborn session, around the 20 week scan is ideal to pencil in a shoot around your expected due date.

If your baby has just been born, it’s never too late. Due to the nature of changing due dates, we do occasionally have very last minute slots available and may be able to book you in.

  • Relaxed and fun! I prefer to capture those natural moments rather than sit a baby in a plant pot with a bow around it’s head. I want to capture the photo after the one we are trying to get and by that I mean the one where you have relaxed or are all laughing….that is the shot for me!

  • In the comfort of your own home. The days straight after the birth of a baby can be a whirlwind, I know first hand. That is the reason I come to you rather than making you travel to a random studio somewhere. I want you all to be comfortable and relaxed, not flustered because you have had to be somewhere by a given time. I know trying to get anywhere on time with kids can be a wonderful challenge at times.

  • From experience the only thing I can guarantee is that your little cherub will arrive when it feels like it. This is the reason I do not take on too many clients each week, as I need the flexibility to work with you around the date of arrival. Plus after going through this twice, we also need to make sure you as parents are ok and ready to do this. Just relax, together we will work it out.

  • Get the kettle on is the first thing. Joking aside, I work around you and the baby. I work where they are comfortable or where you would like photos. I bring the knowledge, you bring the wish list. Once you book your session I will send you a full, detailed guide to help you prepare and give details of what to expect.

  • Drop me a line with the request/contact form. I don’t book anything without us having a chat. My main aim is that I want you to be happy with me and my service. I do not have that sort of ego where I will throw my toys out of the pram, if things are not right. That is why we talk first and if I feel that my offerings are not the best fit for you I will point you in the direction of someone who I think can get you exactly what you want. This is all about you.

Now if you think this all sounds great, I will ask you a few questions to work out some of the details to help with planning the date and the session. At that point I can give you a more accurate quote depending on what exactly you are looking for.

At that point if all is a go…we get you booked into the calendar, then you go back to either growing a tiny human or looking after the little bundle of joy you already have.
